Q. Has anyone ever taken oral doses of Lamisil for treatment of a toenail fungus? What were your side effects? I’m a little nervous to take it.

PDR reference:
Lamisil side effects

Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Lamisil.

Side effects of the cream and solution are uncommon. They include burning or irritation, itching, dryness, peeling, and rash.

The tablets are a bit more likely to cause a reaction:

Side effects of the tablets may include:
Diarrhea, headache, indigestion, rash

Special warnings about Lamisil:

Changes in the lens and retina of the eye have been reported in people taking Lamisil tablets. If you notice any changes in your vision while taking the tablets, notify your doctor.

Lamisil tablets have been known to cause rare cases of liver damage. If you develop warning signs such as nausea, loss of appetite, or fatigue, alert your doctor. Lamisil tablets are not recommended if you have liver disease or kidney problems.

If you suffer from the autoimmune disorder lupus erythematosus, you will not be able to take Lamisil.

Lamisil tablets have also, in rare instances, caused very severe skin reactions. If you develop a steadily worsening rash, stop taking the tablets and call your doctor immediately.

If you develop another kind of infection while taking Lamisil tablets, tell your doctor. Lamisil may decrease your ability to fight infection.

Do not use Lamisil cream or solution in the eye, mouth, nose, or vagina. In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with running water and call your doctor if symptoms continue.

If you develop skin irritation, redness, itching, burning, blistering, swelling, or oozing while using the cream or solution, notify your doctor. Do not cover the treated area with dressings unless directed by your doctor.

Lamisil has not been tested for safety in children.
Lamisil takes months to work (the nail needs to completely grow out).

Laser Treatment For Toenail Fungus

Q: Does laser for toenail fungus really work? I have had toenail fungus for many years, not on all nails, but on several and Ive decided to finally do something about it. What I want to know is, does the laser treatment really work? and how long does it take to get complete result? I know these are a lot of questions but I would just like to know what the cost is and if it is really affective. Thanks for your help!

There are a lot of claims that laser surgery for toenail fungus is really effective. Though some have doubts because it is only on its developmental stage. Laser surgery doesn’t guarantee any cure. Results may vary from person to person. Before you try this method, you have got to try other alternatives. Like applying tea tree oil, oregano oil or jojoba oil on your infected toe.

Fungus Treatment For Fish

I have fish with fungus, how long do they need treatment.?

I have 26 fish in a pond and 2 have fungus. I have isolated them and treated the water but how long do they need to stay in isolation. They are goldfish type. Unfortunately the instructions do not give a time scale , hence the question.
Tetra Pond Medifin is the product being used.

The fish should stay in isolation until they are no longer showing any symptoms. The instructions on the medication should tell you as to how long you should perform a full course of treatment, however you can prolong the treatment if the fish show no signs of recovery.

Edit: If you send me an e-mail with the brand of treatment then I might be able to help with the dosage, as I do know a couple of people in manufacturing.

Laser technology for toe fungus?

So has anyone heard or seen an ad of a company on the newspaper that claim to use this technology to vanish a fungus on your toenail? I have seen this ad always in the newspaper in NYC where I live. Im not sure if any of u people hear have seen or been to this laser tech company as it claims to vanish the fungus away.

So has anyone used it yet and is it all true, does it work? How much is it?

I think that one is one a developmental stage. There is no concrete evidence yet that laser could cure toenail fungal infections. As I have read on an article, there are companies that offers this kind of treatment for fungal infection however without any assurance of getting cure. So advice you not to take it yet, you will just waste your money and time. Why not check out this site that I found, it will really help you solve your toenail fungus.

Toenail Fungus Essential Oils

Has anyone had success using Young Living Essential Oils for toenail fungus? If so, which one?

To be honest I’m not sure if I used any of these or not. I have tried everything at most of our local pharmacies for toenail fungus and none of them worked. I even tried where everybody was telling me to use Vicks vapor rub (just made a mess)
I have however found something rather unusual to get rid of nail fungus and it only takes about 3 weeks for moderate to heavy nail fungus. I found after using fake glue on toenails for Easter service that the super glue kills it off. After I had taken the fake nails off after just 2 days of wearing them, I had noticed my toenails looked better. I reapplied just the super glue that came with them and left it on about a week or so (the fungus grows when it gets air and moisture) and the fungus was cut back by more than half. So I cleared off the glue and let my toes air out overnight the again reapplied just the glue. After about a week this time all that was left of the fungus was the tips of my toes. So you guessed it again cleaned off the glue, waited overnight, reapplied and by the end of the next week the fungus was completely gone. It has not been back since! :) If you chose to try this my only suggestion is don’t glue your toes together ;)

Toenail Fungus Tea Tree Oil

Okay so I just started using Tea Tree Oil on my toenails because I had a fungus, and the the other toenails started cracking and getting a little thicker. This morning, when I looked at my toenails, I noticed they were white around the edges. Is this normal? Or is it an allergic reaction or something? Has anyone had any success with tea tree oil?

dont use tea tree il. try zetaclear

Are you thinking you might have an infection of the nails? It is possible. But don’t conclude until you are done reading these series on the general overview of nail fungus infections. In these series, you’ll learn what nail fungus infection is, what causes it, its cure and treatment and preventive measures. Nail fungus also referred to as Onychomycosis is caused by tiny fungus organisms that can be easily contracted anywhere. If you’ve got it, be rest assured that you are not the only person having this same dilemma as estimates have shown that over two million people in Canada have it while over 10 million people have it in the United States.Nail fungus infections are really hard to spot earlier on. http://tinyurl.com/p6a9tl

My Feet Are Disgusting, How Can I Help It?

Just plain and simple my feet are just ugly and disgusting. I’m embarrassed to do anything where I need to expose them! Even lounging around in my own house!

My toenails, at least the ones that belong to the smaller toes, are all “scrunched up” and look kinda flaky. Some also have little “hills” on the out-most corners.

My actual feet on the bottom are all flaky, as if I’m shedding. On my big toe especially for a week or two I had the skin peel right off! It hurts and it looks horrid!

Worst of all is the in-between part of my pinkie-ring and ring-middle toes on each foot. They are always red and raw, look broken, and sting like crazy. Sometimes I even find fungus in them!

This has been going on for almost a year! I’m getting tired of being so embarrassed because of my feet and so I want it to stop! Can you list any ideas to help me with my symptoms?

Many thanks. :(

definitely you need to get rid of fungus!

for me worked very well ZetaClear!
It worked fast and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry ZetaClear but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer.

Toenail Fungus Yellow
What’s the best way to get rid of toenail fungus?

For the longest time now 3 of my toes are all yellow and brittle and I can’t stand it any longer. They just keep growing in the same way and everything so far that I have tried has failed. Any ideas?

Coconut oil is a natural and powerful antifungal. Slobber on a thick load onto the to infected areas.

Better yet, buy some Tea Tree Oil and pour it on the infected areas. Tea Tree is the most potent and powerful antifungal out there. It might sting at first, but that means it’s treating the infection.

Use it for a couple days-weeks and it should go away.

You do not need antibiotics if someone replies you do, that just creates more yeast buildup in the body, and on your feet. Likewise, steroid creams will thin and harm the skin.
